Narrowing An Idea
For my medium analysis, I'm trying to decide from a couple of topics. One I would like to do would be on how the iPod was first implemented, and now how it has evolved into something way more advanced than a portable music player. Another topic I would like to discuss is how video on the internet started, and how it transitioned into things like youtube and ustream, ad eventually into HD content streaming on the web.

I think the video idea could work - if you focus it to a particular site like YouTube. I also think that iPods would be a great topic. You might be able to write about the overall transition of iPods and how that transition played out in your own experience.
Think to about values and image associated with iPods. How would you describe their owners - young, hip, rich?, attractive? Think of how the technology / medium is used and also how it impacts users.
Can't wait to read what you come up with.
